Why You Should Engage with Leverage Credit Recovery, Yonkers Young Entrepreneurs, and Pull Up A Chair In Getty Square
Dear Reader,
I hope this message finds you well.
In today’s rapidly evolving world, the challenges facing our communities—especially marginalized youth of color—are more pressing than ever. Our schools, from K through 12, to higher education, and even within the broader business community, have consistently failed to prioritize financial literacy, financial intelligence, and civics education. These subjects, vital for personal empowerment and societal engagement, have taken a backseat in favor of STEM. While science, technology, engineering, and math are crucial, the absence of financial and civic education leaves our youth, the working poor, the ever-eroding middle class, and the full-time working homeless vulnerable in an unforgiving economy.
At Leverage Credit Recovery and Yonkers Young Entrepreneurs, we’ve dedicated ourselves to filling this critical gap. Our mission is to help, support, educate, empower, and inspire those in marginalized communities, providing not just knowledge but tangible financial opportunities. We understand that financial literacy and civic engagement are the keys to unlocking a future where everyone has the freedom and resources to thrive.
This is why I invite you to read my SubStack articles and join us at Pull Up A Chair In Getty Square. These platforms are more than just outlets for discussion—they are spaces where we confront these issues head-on, explore solutions, and build a community committed to change. Our conversations are designed to challenge the status quo, inspire action, and equip you with the tools you need to navigate and transform the world around you.
I leave you with this thought: What is school really for? I encourage you to watch this short video:
and reflect on its message. What do you think?
As always, stay safe, travel well, and I look forward to seeing you in our next session.
Warm regards,
Tyrone Glover
